The Midwinter Break is nearly over here in NYC. There’s a raft of exciting things to do in the last few days before school starts up again!

Friday February 22 from 10-to 5pm Collage

WHERE: Children’s Museum of the Arts at 103 Charlton Street, NYC


WHAT: Illustrative Collage—Illustrators use lots of different methods to create eye catching imagery. Illustrator Deborah Gonzalez uses collage to create illustrations of people! What kind of scenes could you create with just collage? Try ripping and tearing paper for texture!

Friday February 22 from 9am to 3pm Step into the past!


WHERE: Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, 421 East 61st Street, New York, NY

WHAT: WINTER HISTORY ADVENTURE: Join the proprietor of the Mount Vernon Hotel and learn from hotel cook, Flora Miller, planting herbs in the winter and making a period recipe!

Saturday February 23 at 10AM Lego Free Play at 67th Street Library


WHERE: 328 East 67th Street, New York, NY

WHAT: Social and creative exploration for children ages 4 and up. Build with LEGO® bricks while getting to know other children and caregivers in the community. No registration required.

Saturday February 23 at 11 AM Storytime and Activities Featuring I Am Martin Luther King, Jr


WHERE: Barnes and Nobles at the Court Street (Brooklyn), Park Slope, Fifth Avenue (Manhattan) and 86th and Lexington Locations

WHAT: Join us for our biography kids' book series as we read about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an inspiring leader who had a dream of peace and love for all children everywhere. Plus get a coupon from our Café for a grilled cheese sandwich with milk or juice for $4!


Sunday February 24 at 2 PM Storytime at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

WHAT: Listen to a great story at one of the world’s most magnificent museums. Afterward, go outside and play in Central Park!

WHERE: 64th Street and 5th Avenue

WHAT: From snow leopards to sea lions to grizzly bears, the Central Park Zoo is endlessly delightful to children of all ages.
